It's time to start gardening now that the weather has changed. We have been busy planting new Fruit Trees and getting ready to start our Vegetables.
I decided to design a Dibber that will allow us to create multiple holes at the same time and without the need for a lot of bending down. There are no set dimensions for this build, but the spacing can be made to suit the type of planting that you do mostly. It can have more or less fingers depending on your needs.
It can also be made using Hand Tools. My original idea was to use 25mm Dowel, shape them into a point and fit them into the bar that you stand on. It would then be a very simple project that a beginner to woodworking could make for use in the garden. I wanted to get a bit of practice on the lathe, so I decided on woodturning the fingers.
I like the idea of making my own Tools, especially if it is a Tool that is not easily found or readily available. Handmade Tools give great satisfaction and for me it is fun knowing that I created something to help me better improve my woodworking experience.
