Tanya Thrasher (Cherokee Nation), Publications Manager at the National Museum of the American Indian, talks with Alexandra Harris and Mark Hirsch, co-authors of the book "Why We Serve: Native Americans in the United States Armed Forces". The book was released on September 15, 2020 and honors the generations of Native Americans who have served in the armed forces of the United States since the American Revolution. This conversation was presented to an audience of museum members and donors to the National Native American Veterans Memorial via teleconference on September 22, 2020, and was recorded with permission.
