Today I show you how I made a maker's mark for marking steel, brass, leather and wood. Using an engraver I hand engraves the Drawbridge “Portcullis” logo onto O1 Tool Steel and shapes it like a shield using his makita power file. He hardens it in canola oil and then tempers it to straw colour and cools again in oil. I'll walk you through all the steps on how to make your own touch mark at home. A touchmark stamp like this can be used to stamp leather metal or wood.
