In this video, knife maker Walter Sorrells reviews the EM-SMART Basic 1 laser engraver...and makes an amazing knife in the process. The knife has a patriotic theme, including an American flag and a passage from the Declaration of Independence, all rendered with a laser engraver. The EM-SMART Basic 1 is a fiber laser which is capable of marking steel, non-ferrous metals and various plastics. In this project, Walter will engrave both the blade and the G-10 handle, showing how tlasers can be used to produce many exciting designs on knives...as well as tools and a host of other items.
