In this video I show how I made a mini Jacob's Ladder from an Arc Lighter, and conduct some experiments to answer a viewer question about if a coil of wire could turn my bismuth levitator into a frictionless motor.
I skipped over making a full tutorial for the Jacob's Ladder in this video in favor of just giving a description seeing as how the design is so simple, but I expect many of you will ask about how to modify the arc lighter. Check out this earlier project of mine where I take an arc lighter and modify it so the high voltage is directed through the pair of wires that are connected to the Jacob's Ladder in this project: youtu.be/uKmGVNs_y7o
The arc lighters used in this video can be purchased through the following link (this is an affiliate link): ebay.to/29Qpmwj I recommend one with a single arc as I am unsure if the internals of a dual arc lighter would be compatible with this project.
