Emily Snee | Making a *floaty* Chemise Dress! VICTORIAN INSPIRED UNDERGARMENTS for my Edwardian Outfit @EmilySnee | Uploaded March 2021 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
I tackle making a chemise (AKA a shift or slip)! I wanted to try and finish up my Edwardian outfit with a staple Victorian historical undergarment.
I used images from the Met and V&A’s collection (linked below) to look for trends and inspiration and fell in love with an 1887 , BUT I never want to make something to be only a costume piece so decided to give it a second purpose as a floaty summer dress!
