Cheap wood can create a nice finish with rustic character. I use the spruce boards at home depot as a substitute for reclaimed wood but without all the dirt, sand, and mold. It just needs time to dry indoors like all framing lumber. This dresser will be for my own home and function as a changing station for my daughter. I added a toekick into the design for this purpose
