Show how to graph the mass and volume data for a material and then how to use the slope of the line on the graph to calculate the density.
The density of a substance is its mass per unit volume. The symbol most often used for density is ρ (the lower case Greek letter rho), although the Latin letter D can also be used. Mathematically, density is defined as mass divided by volume.
To calculate the density divide the mass of the object by its volume. Volume is the amount of space an object occupies. Mass is the amount of matter an object contains.
