Back to some summer sewing, and this time I have a very sun ready dress with straps instead of sleeves for once! Today I'm transforming the regular bodice block pattern into a sweetheart neckline strappy and gathered top with a faux wrap skirt. In a yellow green cotton batik, this almost pin-up dress by my usual standards was inspired by midcentury Alfred Shaheen dresses and others similar from the 1950s.

First, a disclaimer: So many of you have kindly offered to send me things, including vintage items you may have inherited, and I am so honored you would think of me and of course I do adore vintage treasures, however, unfortunately I only have so much storage space currently!
