Hello all and happy Sunday! This week we are going to be taking a beautiful quilt that I bought at a flea market many months ago and giving it a new life! I bought this quilt with the intention of turning it into a jacket, and today is the day it finally happens! I’m going to be walking you through the entire process of how to make a DIY quilt coat from the comfort of your home. We will be making the patterns, cutting the pieces, sewing it together and adding a little style to make the piece special and custom! This is a super cheap DIY with this quilt jacket costing me around $10 to make! I was super excited about this given that quilt coats are majorly expensive in stores.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced sewer, this tutorial is perfect for anyone looking to create a unique and cozy quilt jacket. With these tips and tricks, you'll be able to make a beautiful and functional jacket that's all your own. So grab your sewing machine and let's get started!
And don’t forget to subscribe for more fun DIYs!
See you all next Sunday and happy DIY-ing!

Measurement guide:
Back: measure bust at largest point, add 6 to that number and divide by 2. Then add 1.5 inches to that. This is your back panel width.
For the back length, determine how low you’d like the jacket to sit and then measure that out. Add 5/8 inch seam allowance to your number.
Front: width of the front is found by taking the back width, dividing it by 2 and adding 5/8 in for your seam allowance. You may also want to add 2-3 inches if you’d like an overlap in the front for buttons.
Sleeve: measure your arms from wrist to wrist. Subtract the width of your back panel from this number. Divide by 2 and add 5/8 seam allowance. This is your sleeve length.
For sleeve width, measure around your shoulder/armpit
