Zez Retro | Make your own DaemonBite Super Nintendo to USB adapter @ZezRetro | Uploaded November 2021 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
In this video I show you how to create a DaemonBite Super Nintendo to USB adapter. DaemonBite adapters are an open source project by Mick Gyver which program an Arduino Pro Micro to accept the inputs from various retro controllers. In this video I make a Super Nintendo controller adapter because I think its one of the easiest and I needed one anyway.
There are other more robust ways of making a DaemonBite adapter but in this video I wanted to show you the easiest and cheapest way I know. The total cost was under 10 dollars, it's reasonably solid and I think you can make this project even if you have never soldered before.

0:00 Introduction
1:53 Parts You Will Need
2:17 Constructing the adapter
5:30 Flashing the Arduino
7:16 Heating the heat shrimping
8:18 Ramble to the camera
Download the DaemonBite Arduino code: github.com/MickGyver/DaemonBite-Retro-Controllers-USB
The Arduino IDE (needed to upload the code to the Arduino): arduino.cc/en/software
Below are the parts you need to build this adapter. I have provided AliExpress links, sorry if they expire
1. Arduino Pro Micro: aliexpress.com/item/32768308647.html
2. SNES Controller Extension cable: aliexpress.com/item/4000123466708.html
3. Some heat shrink tubing
4. A micro USB cable
4. Soldering iron. There is simple soldering but it's about as easy as soldering could ever be
You might like some of the other things I do too
