Just a little short video tip on how to avoid condensation build up on a lens during those long duration time-lapse shoots. This can occur in any climate and basically happens when the glass elements of your lens match the ambient temperature. At that point the warmth that was retained from being stored in a warmer space has been lost and condensation that could not previously form is now free to do so. This is a particular bind if you are shooting in cold environments and the condensation actually freezes on your lens.
This is a simple and very economical solution to that issue and given that some of these pads can last for up to 8hrs it makes every shoot a potential safe one given their active lifespan.
Please do be careful and check the temperature characteristics of the pads you are set to use as some out there are known to give off serious heat. You don’t want to wish heating the oils and lubricants within the lens to such a degree that they have a detrimental effect on the performance of your equipment.
