Memory Wire is probably the most under-appreciated stringing medium in the jewelry-making world, but we love using it. We are constantly finding new ways to use this versatile wire and put it to work in many of our designs.
The spiral bracelet design is one of the easiest ways to use memory wire but with the addition of the braided leather tubes, the unique "window" beads, and a series of crystal/metal bead motifs, we can turn a simple bracelet into an elegant piece of jewelry.
Materials you will need to make the Beadazzled bracelet:
• 3.5 loops of bracelet Memory Wire, 1 mm or 0.8 mm thick, 2-1/4 inches in diameter (55 mm)
• 7 inches (175 mm) hollow braided leather cord, or 8 inches (200 mm) leather cord with a cotton core, 5 mm in diameter
• 6 glass window beads, 10 mm
• 7 metal/crystal roundel spacers, 6 mm
• 16 crystal abacus beads, 6x8 mm
• 32 metal bead caps, 6 mm
• 30 metal round beads, 3 mm
• 12 metal bi-cone beads, 8 mm
• 4 metal cord ends, 5 mm inside diameter
• acrylic "super" glue (optional)
Tools you will need:
• Memory wire cutters (do not use your standard wire cutters)
• round nose pliers
• scissors or wire cutters (for cutting and trimming the leather tubing)
• chain nose or flat nose pliers (if using corded leather tubing)
• ruler
