RimstarOrg | Make Crystal Earphone/Earpiece for Crystal Radio - Homemade @RimstarOrg | Uploaded 11 years ago | Updated 5 hours ago
How to make a homemade crystal radio earphone (earpiece) for a crystal radio, starting from a microwave oven piezoelectric crystal speaker. This goes step-by-step, from taking it out of the microwave oven, desoldering it from the circuit board, gluing the end of a pen as a hearing tube to direct the sound into your ear, hot gluing on a back piece to capture sound from the piezoelectric crystal, and even cleaning the tube with rubbing alcohol before use. I also show how to test it using a voltmeter while tapping on the piezo crystal. Lastly, I demonstrate it in use with a homemade crystal radio.
