hello friends! recently I've been struggling with art fear. oh the dreaded art fear. however, it's been distinctly different than my usual art fear. and as I tried to figure out what to create for today, I had a few realizations about my current state of mind. This topic is super nuanced and layered, so please leave your experiences, thoughts, comments, musings, and reflections in the comment section so we can have a chat about this. As I grow as a writer and a person, my relationship with art changes. by allowing myself to be bad at certain things, it lets the pressure off of my perfectionist's brain. I know, it's way easier said than done. And even when doodling in this video, I found myself wanting to go back and perfect the lines. I had the smoothness feature on Illustrator turned all the way up so my imperfect lines smoothed. It's a constant that must be consciously worked on. I doubt I'll ever be over my art fear, but I can find ways to alleviate its pressure. And in the end, that's all I'm looking for :D
