In this video, I take a first look at UJAM Retrocraft and demonstrate how it can transform drums, vocals, and instruments using vintage playback emulations, analog-style saturation, modulation effects, delays, reverbs, and creative sound design tools. Retrocraft combines tape, vinyl, cassette, radio, speaker, and amplifier modeling with a modular multi-effects engine designed to deliver instant lo-fi character and retro textures. I walk through the main sections of the plugin, explore presets, test the randomization feature, and demonstrate how different processing modules can be combined to create everything from subtle analog warmth to heavily degraded and experimental sounds.
Retrocraft was developed as a streamlined workflow solution that replaces complex chains of audio plugins with a single interface. The plugin includes approximately 100 presets, a Surprise randomization function, vintage playback emulations, speaker modeling, modulation effects, delays, reverbs, choppers, EQ shaping, compression tools, and creative degradation effects. Throughout the demonstration, I compare processed and unprocessed audio to highlight how each section contributes to the overall sound.
