While I was out shopping the other day, I spotted a few skull candy buckets hanging on the shelf just dying for a makeover. The moment I saw them, I was reminded of Disney’s Silly Symphonies: The Skeleton Dance, and I knew they needed a second life as glowing Halloween lanterns.
In this episode of the Mythical Makers Workshop, I’ll walk you through how to turn a simple Dollar Tree skull bucket into a spooky papier-mâché lantern. This project is perfect for beginners, especially if you’ve wanted to try papier-mâché but felt nervous about sculpting. The bucket gives you the shape and you just bring it to life!
Using a few simple supplies, some tissue paper, and a flickering tealight, you’ll have a glowing skull ready to haunt your Halloween night. It’s quick, inexpensive, and family friendly and the perfect weekend make before the big day!
