Card weaving is an excellent way to introduce people to woven structures and is particularly useful as a craft activity with children. In our project today we make use of careful warping to allow a completely seamless pouch to be woven that doesn't need sewing up at the end.
Materials are easily accessible, a piece of card some thread and some bulky yarn and a needle. Upgrade the project by using more warp threads, textured yarn, simple tapestry techniques, maybe add a loop and button, this is just a starting point and there are many ways of making more elaborate three-dimensional woven projects from the same principle.
