In this video I take an in-depth look at the MAKAGIC L7, a surprisingly advanced laser distance meter that packs a lot more functionality into a tiny device than I expected.
The L7 can perform normal laser distance measurements, but it also uses its sensors and built-in algorithms to measure between two points, calculate height and other dimensions from a single position, continuous distance measurement, measure angles and even measure rotational speed (RPM).
I put several of these unusual functions to the test and compared the results with other measuring instruments I already have.
The two-point measurement and Z-axis measurement were spot on when compared with other devices, while the RPM measurement was also surprisingly close to my PeakTech measuring instrument.
