Tulsa has made major Route 66 improvements ahead of the centennial — including 90 subsidized neon signs ($85,000 this year), public artwork over graffiti, repairs at the neon sign park, Cyrus Avery Plaza, and a new musical road.
The Route 66 Commission and a sales tax oversight committee are overseeing all of it, with street sweeping now underway.
The centennial is this fall 2026, but the kickoff festival and parade weekend is in May.
