Formula 1 is gearing up for some massive rule changes, and they're about to shake things up for the 2026 season in a massive way. So here are the three rule changes you need to know about! First off the 2026 preseason testing is getting a major overhaul. With all the new engine and aerodynamic regulations coming into play, F1 is giving teams a lot more time to get up to speed. Instead of the usual 3-day test, there will now be three separate 3-day tests, giving teams a total of 9 days of preseason testing. Next up, the rookie driver requirements are changing. Currently, teams are only required to give a rookie driver one free practice session during a race weekend. But starting next year, that goes up to two free practice sessions. This is a big opportunity for new talent to get more experience behind the wheel. And finally Starting in 2025, the point awarded for the fastest lap will be removed. This means there will be 24 fewer points up for grabs across the season, which could have a major impact on championship battles and strategy.
