I get lucky with high level heroes and immediately get loads of powerful and resilient gnome champions. I then go for wizards to make the most of this. High level wizards with high damage spells and gnomes to pin enemies in place.


One of the most unique RTS games ever made from the golden age of RTS, and one that's clearly influenced heavily by high fantasy and by RPG and D&D fundamentals. Units are not directly controllable. The player influences/macromanages them entirely systemically. Constant decisionmaking but none of it involves direct control, always about anticipation while your "units" have their own agency and personalities and behaviours.
