Taking advantage of an exploit that results from the "Dead Heroes" starting condition, whereby the heroes are spawned alive, killed, and then appear in the mausoleum. This enables a window of opportunity for immediate palace upgrading, because even though they're instantly dead, they don't yet stop counting towards the palace upgrade requirement.
One of the most unique RTS games ever made from the golden age of RTS, and one that's clearly influenced heavily by high fantasy and by RPG and D&D fundamentals. Units are not directly controllable. The player influences/macromanages them entirely systemically. Constant decisionmaking but none of it involves direct control, always about anticipation while your "units" have their own agency and personalities and behaviours.
