Back at the end of 2020, Dan, fiddle player for folk/punk band Ferocious Dog asked if I'd be up for covering one of their songs for their next live-stream. January was looking quite quiet for some reason so I said 'Heck yeah', or words to that effect, and quickly bagsied Mairi's Wedding, Pt. 3.
Of course I enlisted the help of my daughter Flo for flute and vocal duties, and grabbed a few instruments myself (I bought the electric guitar especially, don't you know).
Anyway. Got it finished and sent it in to Dan.
Their next live-stream then got bigger and bigger until it became Dogfest 2021 (sadly last year's had to be cancelled for probably obvious reasons).
Loads of other acts, including Dan Donnelly, Jess Silk, Simon Friend, Mad Dog McRea, Les Carter, and many other associated with Ferocious Dog sent in covers for the online festival, which was MCed by Jez from Levellers and was was broadcast on Sat 27th March 2021.
Massive thanks to Ferocious Dog for having us as a part of their festival.
