🧲 Today my son and I are Magnet Fishing in Edmonton's Historic River Dump.
Located in thr Louise McKinney Park, the Grierson Hill Dump was the site of Edmonton's first municipal landfill.
In the 1890s through Early 1920s, Edmonton lacked an organized civic strategy for managing garbage. The official advice from the City Engineer's office was straightforward: toss your trash down the river bank.
💰 The North Saskatchewan River has eroded the landfill leaving treasure for us to find.
