I just made 100 videos of nothing but wavetable synth music from the HuC6280a (PC Engine, Turbografx16, Supergrafx, and PC FX) and I made them to share with you on YouTube!
These are all pulled from the .hes files in Audio Overload. Where I knew the track names, I shared them. Otherwise, I just put the track number in the .hes file.
This is a sound system that is very underexplored, underestimated, and underappreciated. It is often panned as sounding "12-bit." And indeed, sometimes it was used in such a way that it did sound as much like NES as it did Genesis or SNES. But the fun thing the PCE sound is that it is wrong, therefore, to assume that the system was not powerful enough to do more, or sound better. When used right, the sound system held its own perfectly well against either of the major 16-bit systems. Sometimes it does sound sorta NES-ish, yes. But it also sounds most like Genesis sometimes, and it even sounds like SNES sometimes. But most of all, it doesn't really sound like any of them. It's its own animal more than anything else. That's the joy of wavetable synthesis, and the joy of the HuC6280a....I picked tracks that showcase the system at all these use levels, NES-like, Genesis-like, SNES-like, and none-of-the-above. I hope you'll enjoy the ride exploring them with me. :-)

![Noise from the Hearts of Nerds Podcast - C1E24: TwoFer Tuesday - vol. 3”
READ THIS:
This is an audio-only Video Game Music radio podcast. For the purposes of video, like Twitch and YouTube, the only modifications that are made over the plain audio file are splash graphics, and pop-ups for new tracks and other significant moments in the show. Please do not expect this to be a live video feed! However, please dont tune out just because it isnt. There are good tunes here that I think youll like. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the gently twisting, sloping waves of Delicious VGM! Or, use this as background noise for your multitasking or gaming adventures!
Cheers!

If you wish to subscribe to the Noise from the Hearts of Nerds podcast - audio-only, there are two options:
Option 1: Subscribe to the Nerd Noise Radio Network - All Channels podcast feed. Feed will include Channels 1, 2, 3, and any future channels not yet planned. Feed will also include podcasts in high quality, stereo where applicable, and episodes will never expire off the feed. Therefore, it is STRONGLY recommended that you subscribe to this particular feed. Heres the RSS:
https://nerdnoiseradio.podbean.com/feed/
Option 2: If youre ONLY interested in Channel 1 (Noise from the Hearts of Nerds) episodes, and not in any of the other content that is or will be offered by Nerd Noise Radio, there is a Channel 1-specific feed. But its hosted on a free account, rather than an upgraded account like the All Channels Feed with lower quality sound (mono, I believe), a maximum 2hrs per month of content (so if the months episodes run longer than that, they may need to be trimmed), and episodes expire off the feed forever after 90 days. It is STRONGLY recommended for most listeners to subscribe to the All-Channels feed instead. However, if you really are only interested in Channel 1 content, heres the RSS:

Cheers!
*= Track is listed in the episode (and was originally listed in the show notes) as Snaking Pass. Actually, Snaking Pass WAS used in the original draft of the tracklist - so it actually was right originally, but I swapped it out for Mount Ices, as I felt that track worked better in the context of the playlist. I will feature Snaking Pass eventually in a future episode.
