I crafted this Magic Tower for my Dungeons and Dragons games. I have seen other DIY wizard towers and such, but never a magical guard tower.
Want to make one that is even better? Here is some guidance for crafting this piece of cheap RPG terrain.
0:04 BASE PIECES - Also carve a slot for a coin/washer in the bottom and glue it in place, this will make the tower stable
0:30 MAGICAL ENGRAVINGS - Personally, I don't like the carvings on the bottom piece, should have left it as plain stone. It's just a bit too much stuff happening on the tower.
1:08 CARVING THE FLAME - I found out it is easy to add texture by using your fingernails.
1:45 PAINTING - If you aren't an experienced mini painter (like me), I would suggest painting a regular yellow-orange flame. It is easier to make it look nice. I mixed some yellow with the silver paint to make the "metal strips" and the flame holders to look slightly golden. The tower would probably look better if it was more brown or beige, it goes better with the blue markings.
