Mae Brown is considered to be one of the finest early ragtime piano roll arrangers. Her "States Rag Medleys" has earned praise by historians like Rich Zimmerman and the team of Blesh and Janis. This particular roll is of two Scott Joplin rags, "Kismet Rag" and "Felicity Rag", written in 1913 and 1911 respectively. Brown really breathes life into "Kismet". That's why I play that one first here, even though on the roll it's first "Felicity" and then "Kismet". US Music rolls 65050B & 65819B
