Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) of Phoenix, Maryland, USA, mobilized to Madras (Chennai), India to fell two (2), 200' tall, reinforced concrete, hyperbolic cooling towers, and one (1) partial cooling tower after the structures were compromised by typhoon winds. The cooling tower implosion was but a part of the power plant clearance operation being conducted to clear the site for new development. The towers were successfully felled on February 16, 1997.
