In Revelation 3, Jesus speaks to the church of Laodicea about a dangerous spiritual condition. Outwardly, everything may appear successful, comfortable, and complete, but Christ looks beyond appearances and reveals the true condition of the heart.
This message is a call to examine what is happening beneath the surface. It is possible to look strong on the outside while being spiritually empty within. God is calling His people away from lukewarmness and into a genuine, surrendered relationship with Him.
The question is not only how we appear before others, but how we stand before God.
“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.” — Revelation 3:15 (KJV)
