Between 1920 and 1930 Otis Elevator installed wooden escalators at the flagship Macy's location in Herald Square, New York City. Many of these have since been replaced but a few remain. They are made of oak and ash wood (but the internal mechanisms have been upgraded over the years). This video was taken in August 2022 near where Toys 'R' Us is scheduled to open in October 2022.
