Abstract: The MACSPlex InspectoR is a brand-new shiny app available on the Miltenyi Biotec website (miltenyibiotec.com/DE-en/resources/tools/macsplex-inspector.html) that is designed to calculate the concentration of cytokines from bead-based multiplex data. What does this mean? Let’s look at an example:
Rita Researcher wants to know how the cells in her sample are doing after an experimental treatment. Therefore, she wants to look at the cytokine level, as cytokines released from the cells tell her more about their current status. During her preparations of the measurement, Rita adds a kit to her sample that binds fluorescent molecules to the cytokines. Rita then measures the fluorescent properties of her sample using a flow cytometer. This leaves Rita with a huge mass of data. How to get the cytokine concentrations out of it?
Let the MACSPlex InspectoR inspect them for you!
Rita opens the webpage. She doesn’t have to register nor to download anything. She simply selects the kit that she used. She uploads her data files and the InspectoR starts to work. The app then performs several intermediate calculation steps as sorting out noise, clustering and interpolation of concentration curves and calculation of the cytokine concentrations. Rita gets the cytokine results as a table, as well as interactive plots that allow her to verify the accuracy of the intermediate calculation steps. Afterwards she can download the results for further analysis.
For those who don’t have any data at hand, the "Run example data" button provides the possibility to explore the tool without any preparation.
