What is a Macra-Weave?
Macraweave combines the crafts of macrame knotting with weaving to create eye-catching projects that really pop with texture
A little bit about the process of this macra-weave wall hanging. Sometimes I do a little design sketch before I get started. But usually I'm going only by a rough idea of what I wanted to do and let the material guide me along the way.
This was the case for this wall hanging as well. I knew the color palette I wanted to work with and that I only wanted to use cotton fibers and utilize the looped rya technique more for some fluffy texture. There we go! Sometimes this method takes a little longer because you are creating without a script. This wall hanging took me about 16 hours to complete.🧡
Here are the different techniques I used:
~ Macrame ~
• larks head knot
• double half hitch knot
~ Weaving ~
• twining
• tabby
• looped rya
