MacOS 12 for intel i7 for music production. will it work?
I still have a good intel i7 MacBook Pro. It use to run on Macos10.15. But I'm now ready to try MacOS12 on it ans see if it does any better.
After cloning my boot dist, I started the Mac OS update.
Got some error messages - mostly to tell me that the drivers or apps running would not be compatible with the next iOS (nor would be my i7).
Got some messages to update my plugins (I have more than a 1000 if you add up all the VST2, VST3 and AU versions). Took some time, but no problem.
Updated a bunch of stuff- mostly plugins:
-Arturia’s app using Arturia Software Center
-UVI Portal
-IK Product Manager
-Manually for Cherry Audio’s soft synth
-Manually for GForce Software’s soft synth
-Native Access for some
Needed to install new drivers for the Roland TR-8s, MC-707
Before updating to Mac OS12 I was running MacOS10.15 with the latest update of my old apps.:
-Ableton Live 10 Suite (10.1.42)
-Roland ZenBeats (latest
-Presonus Studio One 4 (4.6.2.58729)
-Reason 11 (11.3.9d22)
