The full Mackie battery-powered PA system, tested: two Thump Go tops on two ThumpSub Go subs, all running on swappable batteries with no wall socket needed. I've had the tops for years, but the subs are new - and among the first proper battery-powered subwoofers from a big-name brand.
In this review I look at how the whole system sounds, how well the battery setup actually works, the Bluetooth routing limits you'll hit with a full stereo-plus-subs rig, and who this is really for (wedding and mobile DJs, take note).
The short version: it's a solid, classic small PA that Mackie has done a very good job of putting batteries into. You're paying for the freedom to play anywhere, not for anything you'll hear in the sound.
