Tater-Tot Tunes | Macho Grubba (8-Bit Cover) - Paper Mario TTYD @TaterTotTunes | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 2 hours ago
The Glitz Pit chapter is definitely one of my favorites in TTYD, I love the mystery elements and twists. In making the art, I traced over Macho Grubba's in game sprite while also trying to keep it in style with the Tubba Blubba sprite I made a while back. The big difference here is I've decided to drop the white outlines that I used to use for the Paper Mario remixes. Until Color Splash, the art styles never used white outlines, and I would rather keep it more true to the originals.
As for the song, the composer is currently unknown. If I had to guess, I'd say
it's the work of Yuka Tsujiyoko because of the various commonalities it shares with the soundtrack of Paper Mario for the N64. Compare it to the battle themes of that game and you'll hear clear similarities in writing style (keep in mind that the N64 music was all sample based).
Anyway, it's a cool menacing song that's one of my favorite boss themes in the game.
