Winston Moy | Machining Anodized Aluminum to Skeletonize My Shapeoko - #158 @WinstonMakes | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
Back in February, I adopted a CNC from the scrap heap and decided to have some fun with the machine. I had an idea that was half grounded in utility, half aesthetics. I wanted the ultimate lightweight travel CNC. So I sketched up a design and made my CNC objectively worse in the name of art. This is the story of "Project Skeloko".
Disclaimer for all the naysayers, the intended use case for Samwise the Skeletonized Shapeoko is to machine wood/plastic/foam on the road. So not only will it see very low cutting forces, but it will also likely be used with a dust boot.
