Machine Gun Kelly recently switched genres from hip hop to rock, releasing his first pop punk album "Tickets To My Downfall" in September 2020. In December, he was interviewed by Allison Hagendorf for Spotify's "Rock This" podcast show, and he ended up putting his foot in his mouth BIG TIME when it came to privilege and being completely out of touch with the struggles of being a smaller rock act.
