Threads can tell very different stories.

Machine embroidery brings precision, intricate detail, and the possibilities of modern stitching technology. Handmade tatting brings something entirely different — the quiet rhythm of working with thread by hand, creating lace one knot at a time.

These photographs bring together some of my machine-embroidered and handmade tatting pieces. Although the techniques are very different, both allow me to explore the same things I love: delicate lines, texture, pattern, and the beauty of carefully made details.

For me, handmade lace and machine embroidery are not competing worlds. They are two creative languages, each with its own character — and sometimes they can speak beautifully together. 🧵✨
