I used to be SO confused by MAC shades because why does warm skin wear NC and cool skin wear NW lol But once I learned how their color theory actually works, finding my perfect match got way easier! hopefully this makes foundation matching way less intimidating 🤍

1. Skin tone double digit system

* 5–15 → fair to light
* 20–25 → light to light-medium
* 30–35 → medium to tan
* 40–45 → tan to deep
* 50+ → deep to rich
signal digit system

* 0–2 → very fair to fair
* 2.5–4 → fair-light to light
* 4.5–6.5 → light-medium to medium
* 6.5–8 → tan to deep
