This video hopes to set the record straight. The six mistakes in the clip I showed are: 1)At the time Einstein formulated his theory, there was only one known gravitational anomaly, it was in Mercury's orbit. 2)Light bending was a prediction of both Einstein and Newton's theories (In differing amounts). 3)Light bending was not observed before Einstein made his predictions. 4)Newton's theory seemed to be an accurate description of gravity everywhere except with regard to Mercury. 5)Photons aren't what mediate the gravitational force. 6)Quantum mechanics had nothing to do with the formulation of gravitation.
Sci show's video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8wi0QnYN6sIs Molten Glass Transparent? The Gentleman Physicist2013-04-19 | Here we find out if molten glass is transparent. If the video is too technical or boring, skip to 4:30 minutes in, and have fun watching 50mW lasers hit molten glass! NOTE: I realized after posting that transmittance is reduced by 2 effects, some from reflecting off the surface of the glass, and some from dissipation in the glass. That means light travelling through the glass probably dissipates at a rate significantly less than 10% per centimetre. A technical, but useful discussion can be found here: http://www.quantumheat.org/index.php/follow/follow-2/104-energy-density-calculations
