The future is here, and it's robotic 🤖

Take a spin with the M4 (Multi-Modal Mobility Morphobot) – a robot designed by researchers from @Caltech, @Northeastern, and JPL. M4 can perform eight distinct types of motion. It can roll on four wheels, turn its wheels into rotors and fly, stand on two wheels like a meerkat to peer over obstacles, tumble, and more!

With autonomous capabilities, it can make decisions for itself about how best to navigate through a complex environment, choosing what form of locomotion will be most effective based on the terrain ahead of it.

The robot has been tested outdoors and has navigated the terrain of Caltech's campus. Future applications could range from transporting injured people to exploring other planets!
