MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge is an entirely internet-based math modeling competition with no registration or participation fees. Schools in the U.S., England, and Wales are eligible to enter in teams of three to five students. Over $1.95 million has been awarded through 2024.
In this video, we explore how the networks and systems which support our society are complex structures, some of which contain a single vulnerable component whose failure would cause the entire system to collapse. Such a location is called a single point of failure. Join us as we study the potential shutdown of these single points of failure so that protections may be put in place to prevent catastrophe.
