Fractal fly-throughs can be boring – so I made this one extra-long to make sure you would get super bored. That is unless you start to forget the world around you and let your imagination fill in the fractal void. Every nook and cranny will start to come alive – have a purpose. The deeper you go, the more intense this place will feel. You’ll be so immersed you won’t comprehend that all it takes to create this world is the code written on the side of the frame.

$What it feels like to dive into Archeology [3D Fractal] Phenotypic Sarcophagi As a fractal archeologist, I enjoy unearthing hidden gems that lie deep within the mathematical soil. These artifacts are phenotypic expressions of their genes - their formulas. This is a proof of concept film, showcasing the possibilities of using Mandelbulb3D as a tool for creating interesting environments, and exploring techniques of combining greenscreen footage with a tool many deem unfit for advanced VFX work. The runners are Katie McDonnell and Pedro Salgado, with whom this footage was shot for a different project.
