Haikyuu, Ace of the Diamond, Slam Dunk; all the greats center their characters around one common aspect, the team. Blue Lock rejects that assertion, claiming that it is the team who must play at the behest of the individual and the individual must claim victory by being as egotistical and dominating as possible. If you couldn't tell, Blue Lock is over-the-top soccer action and it's absolutely incredible. Realism be damned, Blue Lock is fun and is taking me away from my Man Utd. misery. That's not a bad thing, but a slow middle section made it feel a bit weaker than the original Blood Blockade Battlefront season.Altogether the two seasons still create a fantastic and fun anime that's worth watching, but when I think about Kekkai Sensen, I'll always think of S1 first.
