Lynda Stoner’s speech at the Dominion Animal Rights March explored the way that slaughterhouses harm all of us

Lynda, who is the Chief Executive of Animal Liberation and has been an animal rights activist since the 1980s, asked us to think again before condemning all slaughterhouse workers

“It’s too easy to say, of all slaughterhouse people, that they are sadists and psychopaths. Often it’s because of geography, lack of education and limited employment in the area.”

She cited studies that prove the increased rates of violent crime in communities with slaughterhouses, and how killing for a living can be psychologically damaging.

Her speech inspired us to keep fighting for the day that we can all rejoice at the closing of the last slaughterhouse.
