Let’s all thank Lydia Martin for carrying (along with Stiles) the whole show on her back. Especially the last seasons where she was one of the few things i found still fascinating to watch.
(How bad the last two seasons of TW - that’s what we don’t talk about enough).
Lydia had the greatest character development in the show, that’s for sure. I’m still on the third season right now and it’s like the golden era for her. She’s just shining. The depth of her character, the maturity, the changes she’s gone through. The willingness to help people. To save lives. Her consternation before her banshee powers - but overcoming it as soon as she realizes how much can be done if she doesn’t let the fear in, but learns how to use it to do good. I feel like i can talk for hours about how incredibly well she’s written (we pretend the movie doesn’t exist, okay? Okay).
I found this song perfect for her arc, and the question “What was i made for?” refers more to the bite that gave her a new life - why was she bitten if not to be a banshee and become stronger in every way?
Okay, I dig to deep, but i just really love Lydia, have loved her since i was like 11?? 12?? Almost a decade later, we’re still here. Still admiring her. Isn’t that nice? xx
