The Moon’s temperatures swing from 120°C (250°F) during the day to -173°C (-280°F) at night. LuSEE-Night is launching later this year and will put to the test whether a radio telescope can survive the brutal 14-day lunar night.
This will pave the way for future missions to the lunar far side that could observe for the first time the “dark ages”, AKA our universe before any stars turned on.
