Where is Luna? She is at Mystic Aquarium! 🦭
Earlier this year, our female northern fur seal Luna went to live at Mystic Aquarium to (hopefully) breed with one of the two male northern fur seals in their care. Northern fur seals are a threatened species in the wild, so each new fur seal added to the population is incredibly important!
To help get her acclimated at Mystic, many of our marine mammal trainers visited Luna after her arrival and participated in training sessions. After several months of getting acquainted with her new home, Luna is doing well and actively participating in training sessions with the trainers at Mystic . We will bring you more updates soon!
