It's that time of year again, another instalment of the 'Demobbed' series, this time it's the Panasonic Lumix S1H to get into the hands of the mobsters.
Usual exercise: film a short in 24 hours: including:-
06:00 Write the Script, email to actors
08:00 Preparation of Equipment
09:00 EXT filming actor Seth Morgan, Location 1
12:00 Internal shoot with Ian Shaw
13:00 External with Seth Morgan Location 2
19:00 Wrap Seth Morgan, film Driftwood character Don Frankie
21:00 Not happy with some Driftwood scenes, reshoot a few lines (not happy but. I let it go...)
23:00 Final Cut Pro X Editing Apple Pro Res Raw, import scenes into script order
00:00 ADR a few things with Seth Morgan & Driftwood
02:00 Commence quick grade (sorry!) of V-log V-gamut files
04:00 Adapt a few Driftwood LUTs to use in Rec2020 PQ, the Wide Gamut timeline is Tone Mapped to 600 Nits using HDR Tools
05:00 insert a few musical interludes preprepared and a few sound effects.
Job Done... SLEEP!

Doing a 24 hour shoot from start to finish is a good way of getting to know a camera, the Atomos Ninja V with Pro Res Raw and of course Apple Final Cut Pro X (being a Davinci user it takes a little time to re-accustom grading/editing in FCPX)
Anyways, yes, theres lots of mistakes, like the previous in the series which you can find here and on You Tube.
This particular piece is the follow up to the Lumix S1's 'Poker Party' and centres on the story of two dons chasing 'Sammy the Hacker' and his new shooter: the Lumix S1H.
So it's pretty much a lock down film, as most of the narrative is phone based and internal.
Hated filming myself... probably last time me doing acting! yikes...
Anyways hope you enjoy the script and some of the performances from Seth and Ian who are just great guys to work with.

The Rec2020 PQ file, toned mapped to 600 nits, was output to Apple Pro Res Raw 444 and re-rendered for Internet (Vimeo/YT) at 60000 bit rates an mkv file using h265 420 under the freeware software, HANDBRAKE. If anyone would like settings let me know.
Please view on a HDR device as this is Rec2020 PQ SMPTE2084 and won't look as defined in the colour space & luminance of Rec709 SDR.
